Blue Winter Forest

I found this picture interesting because of the color and the setting. The fact that I can feel how cold it must have felt wherever the picture was taken was enough to make it stand out to me. Comment below telling me your thoughts on this photo. Thanks everyone, see you next time.

Country Road

This picture is something I found online and was one of those pictures that made me think, "Hey I wanna go there". Those are the types of pictures I put on the CAB blog. Everything for me works in this photo. The colors are outstanding and so defined. I like the sky also, because at first glance it appears as grey, but if you look closely there is a blue-ish glow that embodies it. This place, wherever it may be, seems like a great place to take a walk, without a care in the world.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas all you christian followers of the CAB Blog. I just realized that in my last 3 posts including this one, I have included Christmas in the title haha. Anyway, I just thought I would make a post asking where everyone is going for Christmas, whether you are staying home this year, going to another state, even another country. I don't normally travel much during the holidays but I know some people like to go to warmer places or are visiting family. Either way have a fun and safe Christmas and a happy new year!

Christmas Village In Philadelphia

Along with many of the festivities that my family did, the christmas village in Philadelphia is such a cool thing to walk through. The village is actually composed of all German stores which makes it really cool because it is like you are experiencing German culture in the middle of Philadelphia. THe village itself is basically many stands that are in the form of wooden huts and there is a counter in which you can buy things from that individual store. The event is held in "Love" park, even though usually it is held at city hall, they changed it for some reason this year. Pictures of this years Christmas Village can be seen below.

A you can see in the back there are the roofs of the huts I was talking about. Those are where the stores are. This picture mainly shows you that this year it was held in "Love" park.

This is a picture just to give you and idea of what the shops look like and the architecture of each store. I think that stores and everything there is just so cool and festive.

It's Christmas Time in the City

The picture above was not taken by me, but it is of the Macy's Christmas Lights show. It is shown in the big Macy's store in Philadelphia. The reason this is the picture for this post is because it goes along with the theme of Christmas in Philadelphia. Me and my family went on saturday and it was a great experience because they have so many festive things to do in the city for christmas such as walking around the Christmas Village in Love Park. You can also visit reading terminal market in Philadelphia which is always a wonderful place to buy good food and look at the toy trains the have running. We also visited the comcast center to watch the Christmas show they put on the giant TV inside. It is amazing how clear the resolution is. Afterward we walked downstairs to the food court where they have many different foods to eat. The city is a great place to visit during the holidays and I strongly suggest doing so.

Washington Park, Colorado

Above is a picture I found off of google of the great Washington Park in Colorado. My family traveled to Colorado in August of 2009 and we had stumbled upon this park. Washington Park is right outside the city of Denver and is such an amazing place. It is actually a pretty big park and what I like about it is that even though you are close to the city, it makes you feel like you're in the suburbs. Central Park in NYC also has that affect. When you enter the park there are fields with volleyball nets and there's a lake in which you can take those small paddle boats on. There is a second lake further back that is just for scenery. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, bikes to rent, and a path that goes around the entire park. The picture above shows the first lake where the boats are. Washington Park also has a huge flower garden right before the second lake. The garden has paths to walk through and is made up of many if not all colorful flowers. They also have concerts there I believe. It is a great park to go to with family, because it's so family friendly. Washington Park seems to be a great place to go sit and relax on a nice summer day.

Storybook Land Christmas Lights

Storybook Land was probably one of the greatest places of my childhood, simply because it brought to life all those stories you were read to as a child. It's like Disney world, but muuucccchhhhh smaller haha. It has a bunch of little kid rides and attractions revolving around the stories kids grew up hearing (Red Riding Hood, Alice and Wonderland, Humpty Dumpty, etc.). I decided to do my next post on the Storybook Land Christmas Lights because, as you all know, my last two posts have been about summer. I thought I would actually write a post that was festive to this time of year and the holidays. Around this time last year I re-visited Storybook Land with my family, just to see some of the lights they put up around the park. All of the lights are really cool because they basically cover everything in the park and they are so well done. It is very festive there this time of year. On a side note, yes I did take pictures but they are all really dark and you cant see them that well, so this picture isnt mine. I found the picture up top as usual, on google. It caught my eye because I really like this section of the park with the arches lit up and the clock. It feels just like the holidays when you look at it. Storybook Land is a great place to take your kids anytime of the year, but If your ever there during Christmas make sure to go visit Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause! It is also a great place to go back to and see everything you remember if you have been there before.

I Miss Summer!

So, lately I've been missing summer...to a big extent. I don't even know why either. Usually around this time Im into the holidays and all of that jazz, and don't get me wrong I am this year, but I keep thinking about summer. I like winter until about January because then the holidays are over and you're just left with bitter coldness, in many places at least. I found this picture on google and I figured I would include it in the post because it reminds me of those nice summer days where you can just lay down and relax. I guess thats why I miss summer so much, because for me, summer represents being free and not worrying about anything.

Ocean

My friend Maura Roncace took this photo.

I love this picture. I love the ocean. I love summer. This picture was taken in Margate along the Jersey Shore. It really reminds me of summer, which is good because lately I have been really missing the summer time. I like the way Maura made the picture black and white. I think that made it ten times better, because it really brings out the shimmering water and it makes the sky look very blank and endless. I also like how there is a single boat in the background because the boat gives the picture life. This photo is a great picture in general because for me, it represents my vision of summer, sitting on the beach and watching the ocean, feeling calm.

Islands of Adventure: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF HARRY POTTER YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND MY EXCITEMENT THROUGOUT THIS POST! As you all know I was in Disney World back in November and while we were there we decided to stop at Universal Studios. We only went so we could go to Islands of Adventure and see the Harry Potter world. My family are big Harry Potter fans, so this was quite the experience for us. If you are a fan of the Harry Potter books and movies then you will enjoy this place immensly. If you're not a fan, you still might find it cool because of the great buildings and structures. So when you first walk in you see the Hogwarts Express which is the train that takes them to Hogwarts. Then you come to the town of Hogsmede which is very neat because it consists of a bunch of little shops from the books, which includes the wand shop, candy shop, clothing, etc. To keep this post short I'll skip to the main attraction which is the castle ride. You wait throughout all of Hogwarts, the school, which is a giant castle that replicates the one in the books and movies. The ride is a motion simulator and it is AMAZING! You basically soar over the castle, it's hard to explain but it is an experience! So, in conclusion, this is a MUST SEE if you are a fan, and if you're not, its still pretty awesome

Celebration, USA

A couple of weeks ago my family and I took a vacation to Disney World in Florida. It was a great trip...well is Disney ever bad? Lol. So while we were down there, we thought we should check out the own town that Disney created, called Celebration. Now, Disney sold the town a little while ago, but it was still great to see. When Disney had created the town, they had in mind that they wanted all the neighbors to be friendly and to make it a great walk able town. Well, they defiantly hit those two goals spot on. The town of Celebration is a great walk able town! We walked along the main street and in some of the "villages" as they call them there. Some of the houses are HUGE! The picture above is a picture I took of some of the big houses and I thought the picture turned out well lol. I heard the houses were also pretty expensive in Celebration. The town also had many parks. It was nice to see people just talking a good old walk instead of driving anywhere. They have an elementary, middle, and high school in Celebration too. If your ever down in Disney World make sure you check out Celebration...because it is worth it, and it's only a 10 minute cab ride. If you have ever been to Celebration, comment down below and tell me what you thought of it.

Secluded in Nature

This picture makes me calm. It makes me forget about the world, about life. It makes me feel like there is somewhere out there that i can go and just forget about all the stress of what's going on. I like the way it is so open with the yellow field, yet so secluded as the mountains stand around it. This place is a place that every time I think of it, I feel stress free. You know that place you picture to relax you when life has you down? This seems like a great picture to use for that. This picture is amazing.

Cape May Sunsets

This is a picture I took of a Sunset going on in Cape May, NJ. I went there with my family for a week this summer and I had a great time. This picture was taken in the bay area. I liked this picture because the clouds make the sunset even better and it makes the water a cool shade of blue. The sunsets down in Cape May are great because they are so colorful every night. Purple, red, orange, yellow many colors blended together to make an amazing sunset. The funny thing is that after the sun is gone, the sky is even more colorful than when the sun was in the sky. This is one of the many pictures I took of the awesome sunsets on the beaches of Cape May.

The Season of Color

*I do not own this photo, I found it on this person Flickr. The link is below.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/96614226@N00/2056900956/

I stumbled upon this picture on google and once I saw it, I knew that I had to make a post about it on the blog haha. I really like fall and this picture looks like it was taken in the fall by looking at the color of the leaves. Fall is my favorite season, so any picture of it really stands out to me and I think "Wow, I wish I could be there" There is something about this picture, and fall in general that is very warm. I like the colors and how there is that stretch of water right by the one lane road lined with trees. This place looks like it would be a great place to take a long walk.

Results of Rain

This picture stood out to me because it looks like it just rained in this picture. After there is a rain storm I always notice that outside, the area around me looks more colorful. I notice the same thing in this picture. It seems as though the colors are more defined...or more bright. That is one of the reasons why I like rain so much is because of the colors that result from it.

Carlo's Bakery Shop in Hoboken

* I took this picture

Yes, yes, yes...I know I haven't posted on the blog in awhile but yet again I got caught up in life and what not. So now that thats cleared up, lets talk about my trip to the bakery down the road. Just kidding, I don't live down the road from Carlo's Bakery....sadly. Recently me and three other friends traveled to Hoboken in North Jersey to visit this Carlo's Bakery as I have mentioned. Now if you don't know already, this bakery is where they film the show "Cake Boss" on TLC(But between you and me, I don't watch the show too much). I've still seen some episodes of it though. It was an amazing trip and even got some good sweets there...along with a t-shirt. Even though the wait was like...5 hours just to get in the bakery...we still explored a little bit in the town of Hoboken while we weren't waiting in line. We even found a "nifty" park that has a great view of NYC and was a good place to be.

This is a picture I took of the park we went to.

Thats what so cool about traveling...you may be traveling somewhere to go to something specific...but you can always can find things you weren't even looking for.

Meadow

Meadow
How I want to lay in your soft, welcoming grass
I want to bathe in the sunlight you offer to me
I want to see light, shining threw the tall trees
I want to admire your flowers, addiding color and contrast to you
I want to lye down and look up at the sky, filled with endless
I want to touch the warm grass as the sun shines upon it
I want to sit and think happy thoughts

To some people you might just be a piece of nature, or boring
But to me, meadow, you are something more to me
I admire your color, your soft features, your warmness,
And your separation from the world

To me, meadow, you are a symbol of peace
I don't have to worry when I lay down on you
I am at peace when I am secluded from the world
You bring me peace, meadow

Covered in snow

Latley where I live, we have been getting a lot of snow! Much more than we usually do. So, why not do a blog post on snow. Since it's stopped for a little while, the streets have been plowed and now the snow is brown and gross. I like snow when it is untouched and white. I like that feeling of waking up in the mourning and looking outside to see everything covered in white. I liked seeing the trees covered in white(like the picture). I'm really thankful these days to have snow because some years we get a ton of it and others we get hardly any snow at all. Snow is a very nice touch to the winter season because without it, winter would just be cold and boring. Comment below and tell me if you like or dislike snow and why?

The Brooklyn Bridge

*This picture was taken by me

Hello everyone! Sorry, I know it's been about a month since my last post. It has been a very busy January. So this post is my last post(for now) about Brookyln. So, as you can tell it is about the Brookyln Bridge. This was the last thing I did in Brooklyn because we crossed the bridge to get to Manhatten. Walking over the Brooklyn bridge is a great experience for numerous reasons.
1.)So, to get onto the bridge you need to get onto a walkway, which gets you on the bridge. This walkway is located in downtown Brooklyn. I really liked downtown Brooklyn when I was there. There was a park there for kids to hang out after school. I saw alot of kids walking home from school in Brooklyn that day, so it was nice to know they had a park to go to in the city. Now, there are signs that lead you up to the walkway for the bridge. Once I got on the walkway it was pretty straight forward from there and in no time I was on the bridge.
2.) If you have walked across a bridge then you know that you usually walk along the side of the bridge. This is not the case for the Brooklyn bridge. When you walk across the Brooklyn bridge you walk in the middle of the bridge. You are also overtop of the cars. So the walkway I was on before leads into the walkway across the bridge, just more elevated. The walkway on the bridge also has benches to sit on.
3.) The Brooklyn Bridge is very scenic. When you walk across you can see many famous New York City attractions for tourists. I saw the statue of liberty, the empire state building...that's all I can think of lol. So maybe you dont see a TON of attractions, but you do see at least 2 major ones. Also when I was walking over the bridge, the sun was almost setting and the sky looked kind of blue and orange.
4.) Then finally when you get off of the Brooklyn bridge, you are greeted by a nice and very small park in Manhatten.
The Brooklyn bridge is such a nice walking bridge, mostly because it really looks nice for the people who do walk on it. When I say nice I mean that there is not much graffiti as seen on most bridges. It seems as thought the Brooklyn bridge is more of a walking tourist attraction instead of driving over the bridge. It is a pretty long bridge, but it's not extremely long, just long enough so that really anyone can walk on it. You can walk both ways to so if you need to go back to where you came from you can. So when your in New York City I would defiantly suggest to go walk across the Brooklyn bridge if you need a good walk, and are in the area.

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! Yes, I know Im a day late haha. Yesterday was very hectic for me and I couldn't get to posting. I went to the mummers parade yesterday in Philadelphia. I walked along Broad street watching all the mummers preform in thier crazy costumes. If you dont know what the mummers parade is all about, let me tell you. It is held on new years day every year in Philadelphia. People in the parade are called mummers and they are just ordianry people dressed up in crazy costumes and usually they preform skits with songs. They go all the way up broad street from south philly to City Hall to preform in front of the judges. I use the mummers Parade as a way to complete a goal of mine. The goal is to walk from City Hall, all the way down Broad street, to the Phillies Baseball Stadium. Yesterday I got pretty far, farther than I did last year. I only had about 14 or 15 more blocks to go. So, back to the topic of New Years. This new years im making some traveling goals for myself. I want to visit another state in the U.S, and I want to visit another country. What are your traveling goals(or regular goals) for the new years?
