Brookyln Heights Promenade

*This picture was taken by me

Brookyln Heights also has a Promenade. The Promenade is just this straight walkway people can walk on It is right on the edge of Brookyln over looking the East River. When you walk the Promenade you can see so many things. You see the Statue of Liberty, the Empire States Building, Manhatten, the Brooklyn Bridge, and even the houses of Brookyln Heights. When i was there, it was really cool becasue i could see a clear view of the Empire State Building from where i was walking. It was huge. There were houses with balconyes right next to The Promenade. I think it would be so cool to live in one of those houses becasue you have a great view of New York from your balconey. It must cost a fortune though. The promenade is an amazing walkway for people to walk on to see many different aspects of New York City.

Park Slope vs. Brooklyn Heights

*This picture was taken by me

Park Slope is a neighborhood in Brookyln, alsmost right across the street from Prospect park. It is a very nice and walkable area for anyone. Park Slope is a pretty well off town and is safe to walk there with kids. The houses there are beautiful. They are side-by-side houses as seen in the picture above. Whats also cool about Park Slope, is that there are many trees there planted along the sidewalk. This makes it feel like your not in or near the city, because, most cities dont have many trees like Park Slope does. Park Slope also has a couple main streets. These streets are streets that I walked on and I felt they were like main streets. They are 7th avenue and 5th avenue. They just have a bunch a shops, some local shops, and there are some chain shops. I thought it was cooln that they had alot of local shops, becasue I feel like that is what makes a town unique. Park slope is a very cool, fun, and friendly place that anyone can enjoy.

*This picture was also taken by me

Brookyln Heights has some similaritites and some differences from Park Slope. It is the same, in that there are some side-by-side houses, and trees. It has a mainstreet or two like Park Slope. It's different because as I said before, there are some side-by-side houses, but not all of them are like that. There are some stand alone houses and the houses dont all look a like, unlike Park Slope, were most of the houses are designed the same way. It is also more expensive to live in Brookyln Heights than it is to live in Park Slope. I also really liked Brookyln Heights for most of the same reasons as Park Slope. It is really a safe place and it is cool to see becasue the houses there are very fancy. Brookyln Heights is a great neighborhood and is just a great walking town.

So, which one do I like better? That is a really tough question because honestly, I cant answer it. They are both equally great to me. They both have their different qualities that make them unique and special, but they also have some of the same qualities which makes it hard to choose. But i definitaly think you should go and walk around both towns and see which ones you like the best. If you have been to one or the other, or even both, comment telling me what you thought of them. Park Slope and Brookyln Heights are both great, walkable towns.

Prospect Park

*This picture was taken by me

Hey everyone, sorry I havent posted in a while. Ive been very busy latley but I thought i would make a couple more posts before 2010 is over. Wow this year went by so quickly. Ok so anyway, about a month ago i went to Brookyln for the first time in my life. It was AMAZING! I took many pictures while I was there and the picture above is of a park called Prospect Park. Prospect Park was really cool because it was a HUGE park right in the middle of the busy burrow of Brooklyn. There is so much to do there for all kinds of people, which makes it a great place to go to. There were some paths in the woods to walk threw. There was also a big open field with trees. They even had a banshell there for concerts, probably from local bands or artists. Some other things they had were baseball fields, walking paths, a playground, and a big lake with some smaller lakes. I can tell that this would be a great place to be in the spring or summertime. Well, actually I think it would be good all year round. I went there in the fall and it was very nice with the colors of the leaves on the trees changing. My dad went there in the winter and said that there were kids sledding on the hills there. Prospect Park is a great place for anybody because it offers so many things to do.

The Little Observations

Today I was walking outside and I observed things that I had never observed before. Things that I had seen many times and have never taken huge notice to, like how big that house is, or how steep that driveway is. It was interesting how I had just observed this, even when I had seen it before. It was like it had never been there and now it just suddenly appeared. I actually observed them for the first time, rather then just noticing it thinking, "I see this everyday". If we all just take walks like mine, we all might have little observations of the things we pass everyday.

Grass

You know, i think grass is my new favorite plant....if it is a plant haha. I like it because it's everywhere. It's weird but very different from all the other plants. It' can be short and stout, or long and tall. I like the way it itches you when you lay down in it. Sometimes it is very soft, but other times it can be very rough. I guess I like grass so much because it is like me. I am very nice, but sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I am mean. I am a very unique person and I am outgoing. I like to travel...so i guess you could say im everywhere. Oh grass...how you amaze me.

Sun showers, Jack Johnson, and Brushfire Fairytails

When I was 5, I went to Disney world. When we were leaving the airport to go to our resort the coolest thing happened, a sun shower. It's not Iike they don't ha ve them up were I live, but this one was especially cool because it was in Florida and it was almost tropical. The picture relates to my sun shower story because, as u can tell, there is a sun shower in the picture. The picture is actually an album cover of Jack Johnsons first CD, Brushfire Fairytales. Jack Johnson is one of my favorite artists. I went to his concert this summer. He is kinda like a contemporary rock singer. He lives in Hawaii. I picked this album cover to put in the post because it looks really cool, goes with the theme, and I get to incorporate Jack Johnson into one of my posts.

Autumn

As you all know autumn is here and it is one of my favorite seasons next to summer. It gives me a very warm feeling. I like how the leaves on the trees change colors from green to red, orange, or yellow, then become brown and fall to the ground.....that rhymed...just saying. The picture below is a picture of autumn in central park, NYC. I'm going to NYC soon and I am very excited to see it in the fall time.

Quote- Birds and Travelers

″A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.” – Moslih Eddin Saadi

This quote really speaks true to me because when I travel I like to observe how people live in that area and I also look at what the area looks like! Traveling is fun because you can observe different things that makes the place you are at unique.

Lake Louise

Ok first off I actually found out that this picture was taken at Lake Louise, Canada. Well I like this picture for many reasons.
1.) It has multiple variations of the same color blue. Ypu can see thedark blue at the top of the mountains and then the aqua color of the lake.
2.) I really like lakes that are almost hidden in the mountains. Gives you a good excuse to go exploring. i saw some of those hidden lakes in the Rockie Mountains when I went there.
3.) I like how the mountains are very clear and surrounding the lake and the clouds, how they almost appear to be coming out of the mountain top.
4.) I think the people fit into this picture nicley becuase it shows them using the lake in a good way and not dumping trash and other things in it to pollute it.
Well I thought this picture looked so senic that maybe....just maybe......maybe....maybe i will add it to my bucketlist!!!!

It was really neat and a great experience for everyone. It was very interesting and is a really great attraction.

Orchard

I really like this picture because it seemed to have a mysterious side to it. The green on the trees really adds to that mysterious look because the green in very hazy almost, I don' t really know how to explain it. It just seemed mysterious to me. This picture really drew me in because unlike all the other orchard pictures i saw on google, which we full of sunshine and bright green leaves, this one was more mysterious and hazy. It stood out to me.

Path

I really enjoy looking at this picture because it leads me to all sorts of questions like where is this path located? Where is it going and what will it take me to? I really like going on vacation and having that sense of adventure with you. This picture is a prime example of that because there is something about trails and the woods that makes me feel adventurous. This picture also reminds me of a tropical place and I have always wanted to visit a place that was tropical. That is why this picture caught my eye.
